Tennessee FedEx Expands Days
IncSmart Tennessee (Small Business and Startups) - Tennessee FedEx announces it will expand ground operations to six days a year, all year.  Currently the deliveries happen Tuesday through Saturday.  They have invested in its facilities and automation to keep up with the demand from ecommerce.  The company is now handling over 14 million shipments a day.  Over the last five years, FedEx has opened nine new hubs and fifty six automated stations.

FedEx says the expansion is in response to the growing ecommerce demand.  Ecommerce has changed the way America purchases from retail stores.  They are also expecting a huge increase in volume as the holiday season approaches.   They will hire 55,000 positions for the holiday season.  FedEx currently has over 425,000 employees.  Shoppers are spending more money shopping because of the economy and the labor market that is creating new jobs every month, especially with the Trump manufacturing expansion push.
