Delaware Beach Cities Boom
New Hotel Room Growth
IncSmart Delaware (Small Business and Startups) - Delaware beach cities are getting a hotel boom. Twelve new hotels are on the books for Delaware beach cities, creating a building boom in the southern part of the state. This redevelopment is particularly noticeable in Sussex County and Rehoboth. 2018 occupancy rates are about 80%, according to the Southern Delaware Tourism Association. Much of the Delaware market is from New York City and Philadelphia.

Start Booking Flights on July 7
IncSmart New York (Small Business and Startups) - Uber will be offering helicopter rides in New York City. Uber Technologies Inc is going to start testing service in New York City starting on July 9th. Customer will be able to book flights starting July 7th on the new app called Uber Copter. The rides can be booked up to five days in advance and each ride will hold 5 customers.

Today are 16 producing operations in the state. Seaweed is a $6 billion business worldwide, with Korea, Japan and China taking the lead. Seaweed is used for food, fertilizer, animal feed, and many other products including pharmaceuticals. Alaska grown seaweed harvest will be over 200,000 pounds this year. Alaska will have a $100 million dollar industry within the next decade.
