The city unanimously approved the expansion team, and Las Vegas becomes the 33rd team to join the USL.  This may also be a first step for Major League Soccer.  There are 12 cities competing for four MLS expansion teams.  Las Vegas did not try to qualify this year.  The USL has more than doubled in size since 2014 with 30 teams compete in the league.
