This has been a very active fire season, and the high winds have not helped.  The Santa Anna winds to the south and the Diablo winds in the north, can generate gusts of 80 miles an hour.  The US Forest Service has warmed California fire management officials about letting overgrowth of vegetation continue.  Now trying to play catch up has proved to late.   Controlled burns was the answer.
