IncSmart Nevada (Small Business and Startups) - Nevada and the Terrorism Safety Act.  The Safety Act limits a companies liability from a terrorist attack if it developed or deployed security technologies or services certified by the Department of Homeland Security.  MGM is the first company to use the Safety Act after the attack on America on 9/11.  The Safety Act limits and can eliminate a companies liability from a terrorist attack.   The Department of Homeland Security is responsible of the certification.  Certification can take longer than a year.  DHS has yet to act on the decision to call the attack in Las Vegas, a terrorist attack.

New Florida Employment Law On 2018 Ballot

IncSmart Florida (Small Business and Startups) - E-verify for Florida business is being added to the ballot box in 2018.  The proposal (P 29), that would require all employers in Florida to use the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Employment Authorization Program, known as E-Verify.  This law will determine the eligibility of new employees. The law has failed to get legislative support in past years because special interests tied to agriculture and construction made it unworkable.  If the new law passes, it would require automatic suspension of all licenses until compliance is met.  Fines could go as high as $1,000.
