New Federal bill to Allow Banking for Marijuana Businesses

However, a bill was introduced to Congress called the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act (SAFE Banking Act), legislation that allows banks to serve marijuana businesses without conflicts with federal government. Specific legislation is needed so companies do not rely on opinions from the Steven Mnuchin, Treasury Secretary, or Jeff Sessions, the Attorney General.

Canada has been dumping lumber on the American market below cost. Canadian exports are 70 percent of its total production to the United States. The consequence of the tariff however has not hurt shares of Canadian lumber companies. They surged after the tariffs on lumber turned out to be less aggressive. The lumber futures also fell by $10 or 2.5% exchange in the Chicago futures market. They may decline further to 20 %.

The Internal Revenue Service hired four companies, CBE Group, ConServe, Performant and Pioneer Credit Recovery. Pioneer Credit Recovery is based in Wyoming County New York. Pioneer Credit Recovery employs more than 1,000 people and will be adding 300 more with the IRS contract. Pioneer Credit Recovery, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Navient Corporation. Navient is publicly traded on the NASDAQ (NASDAQ: NAVI).
