IncSmart New York (Small Business and Startups) - Coumo energy polices are causing a serious roadblock to New England's gas distribution. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also reported that bottlenecks in the region’s distribution is the reason for high gas prices. Coumo is banning pipelines which is killing the economy of upstate New York. The wants of the Sierra Club are place ahead of the needs of New York consumers.
Coumo's refusal to allow pipelines is costing 78,400 jobs and $7.6 billion in economic activity. New England will pay 29 percent more for gas and 44 percent more for electricity. Industrial customers have it worse. They pay twice the national gas average and 62 percent more for power.
