IncSmart Michigan (Small Business and Startups) - Increased demand for Ziploc bags made by SC Johnson, has initiated plans for a multi million dollar expansion in Bangor Township. The plant will include a 56,000 square foot building, with new production to start 2018. SC Johnson is a nationwide producer of products including Windex, Ziploc, Pledge, Glade, and Edge.
New jobs include positions in manufacturing, warehousing and maintenance. SC Johnson says the plant makes billions of the bags yearly that are exported to seven countries. Bay City is at the bottom of the Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron. The city's population is 35,000.
