IncSmart Ohio (Small Business and Startups) - The Ohio medical marijuana program is shaping up as guides for cultivation and dispensaries. The state is required by law to have the program operational by September 2018. Ohio regulators are on track to meet the deadlines. 60 Pot Dispensaries will be licensed in Ohio. The Board of Pharmacy is one of the three state regulation agencies rolling out the program. The Board of Pharmacy said the proposed dispensary placement, depends on metro population, the patient population and access.
The locations of the dispensaries have not been picked. The Board of Pharmacy is accepting public comment on medical marijuana dispensary districts until August 11. The medical marijuana program is scheduled to open for business in September 2018. The state released the names of 185 applicants, and 24 cultivation licenses. In addition to these licenses, the Medical Marijuana Control Program also released instructions for colleges and universities to for lab testing of pot products. There is no limit on the number of lab licenses. Each dispensary must pay a $5,000 application fee and an $80,000 licensing fee every two years. They must be able to demonstrate adequate capital. Certified employee identification cards will cost $50 to $500.
