Louisiana Renovates World Trade Center
IncSmart Louisiana (Small Business and Startups) - The vacant World Trade Center on the riverfront in downtown New Orleans, is getting closer for redevelopment.  The 1960 iconic building named the World Trade Center office tower, has been shuttered for several years.  The development team is proposing a $364 million Four Seasons hotel and residences.  The team was chosen in March of 2015, but has been held up in litigation.

The redevelop the 33-story building into a Four Seasons hotel, will boast 400 rooms and 80 hotel-serviced condos.  The developers say construction will begin this fall in October or November. Hints to the project include public access to the top cocktail lounge and observation deck.  They are also going to create a cultural exhibit that's connected by an express elevator to the 33rd floor observation deck.  The first floor will include a restaurant and outdoor dining court.  The outdoor dining court and fountain will open on the Canal Street ferry terminal side of the building on Convention Center Boulevard. New Orleans unemployment rate as of April 2017 was 5.4%.
