IncSmart Alabama (Small Business and Startups) - Rocket City Alabama. Bezos company, Blue Origin, to Build Rockets in Alabama. The plant will manufacture 30 BE-4 engines for Blue Origin’s new Glenn Rocket, near where Colorado based United Launch Alliance manufactures its rockets. This is another huge success for Huntsville. Companies that have promised investment includes Remington Arms and Polaris. The Blue Origin facility will be in Cummings Research Park. Cumming Research Park the second largest research park in the United States.
Huntsville, Alabama, is currently the site of NASA’s Marshall Spaceflight Center. The Marshall Center specializes in rocket research and development. Blue Origin will have access to a trained workforce in Alabama and is planning on hiring up to 350 employees. New Glenn is not scheduled to start testing before 2020. The Bezos company will compete directly with Elon Musk/SpaceX Falcon, and Paul Allen of the Seattle Seahawks and the ULA Vulcan.
