Nebraska $500 Million Redevelopment
IncSmart Nebraska (Small Business and Startups) - Nebraska begins a new $500 million redevelopment for downtown Omaha.  The 10 year project could break ground in 2019.  The project encompasses a two block long plaza of the old Conagra headquarters.  Conagra moved it's headquarters from Omaha to Chicago last year.  The old Conagra campus will get new life.  The development requires various approvals, including a request for for tax increment financing to help defray the public improvement requests.

The new designs will include housing, restaurants and office space.  A Green Space will also be a focal point for the $500 million plan.  The project will contain 9 new structures.  They will include 500,000 square foot of office space, 80,000 square foot of retail space, a small hotel with a 200 room occupancy, and 900 new residences.  There is currently an underground tunnel system, allowing residents the opportunity to move throughout the neighborhood without facing weather conditions.
