DEFINITION
The Pelosi Provision is a Congressional insider trading bill. This bill is to stop members of Congress from profiting from the passing of and the stopping of bills before the members of the House or Representatives. It forbids members of congress from gaming the knowledge of IPOs and stock trading. Nancy Pelosi participated in insider trading with the VISA 2008 IPO. This bill was aimed directly at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. The plan is part of the Stock Act.
