Class Action

A lawsuit filed or defended by an individual or small group acting on behalf of a large group.  A lawsuit that allows a large group of people with a common complaint, to sue or be sued as a group.  A class action is a civil court procedure under which one party, or a group of parties, may sue as representatives of a larger class.
