West Virginia Shale Gas Development

IncSmart West Virginia (Small Business and Startups) - West Virginia and China Energy joins partnership to develop shale gas in the Appalachians.  The China Energy shale deal was reached during the Trump visit.  This partnership is part of the US-China Business Exchange trade mission.  The mission expands the relationship between West Virginia and China. The investment will be for power generation, chemical manufacturing, and underground storage of natural gas liquids and derivatives. This is the largest investment in West Virginia's history, which is home to one of the world’s largest shale gas reserves. West Virginia is a key energy producing state.

China Energy Investment Corporation Limited plans on investing $83.7 billion in shale gas development and chemical manufacturing projects.  Planning is already underway and will proceed in phases over the course of the next 20 years and greatly expand Appalachia’s energy infrastructure.  This is a huge commitment to West Virginia with a goal of bringing thousands of construction jobs and  a chance at over 1,000 or more permanent jobs.  The Marcellus, Utica and Rogersville shale formations has several generations worth of natural gas reserves.
