IncSmart Washington (Small Business and Startups) - Washington to raise taxes on business for the Homeless. Seattle to pay millions of dollars to help city deal with homeless problems. The largest job creators in the city will be hit the hardest. The money will be spent on homeless shelters and affordable apartments for the 4000 plus people living on the streets.
The city council is expected to pass a head tax. The head tax is 26 cents on every hour worked in the city. They expect some business to leave the city or house employees outside the city limits. The business staying will raise $75 million dollars from over 600 companies. Its a $450 tax on each employee.
