Tyson is one of the world’s largest food processing companies, and currently has four facilities in Tennessee. They currently employ over 5,000 people. The company owns food products under Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Sara Lee, Ball Park, Wright, Aidells and State Fair brands.
Humboldt has a population of 8,000 people and is located 85 miles northeast of Memphis. This will be Tyson’s biggest investment in Tennessee and the single largest investment in Gibson County. Humboldt was chosen because the availability of labor and access to feed grains. Construction is expected to begin within three to six months at the 500 acre Gibson County industrial park. The new enterprise will create over 1,500 new jobs. Select Tennessee Certified Gibson County Industrial Park North site in Humboldt. The new location is set to be opened by 2019.
