IncSmart Alabama (Small Business and Startups) - Remington Outdoor Co. laid off more than 120 workers at an upstate New York factory. 960 employees remain after the layoff. Ilion is a small town of 8000 people 60 miles east of Syracuse. Towns people are concerned of an eventual closure of the Ilion plant, moving its manufacturing to Huntsville Alabama.
Remington Outdoor Company, Inc. manufactures firearms and ammunition for commercial, military, and law enforcement customers. Remington is facing the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting court case. The Connecticut Supreme Court is hearing an appeal from families of those killed by the maker of the rifle used in the attack.
