IncSmart Arkansas (Small Business and Startups) - Pradco is adding Arkansas jobs. It just announced an expansion to it's operations in Ft. Smith. Pradco is a manufacturer and marketer of fishing and hunting brands and products. They announced its expansion during a news conference attended by Gov. Asa Hutchinson and representatives of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Wal-Mart is Pradco's largest customer. The company also has decided to move the production line of its Thill brand of balsa fishing floats from Minnesota to Fort Smith starting in December.
Pradco is adding 60 jobs. Friday's job announcement was the latest for Pradco, which will have 300 employees in Fort Smith when it fills the new positions. Arkansas is enjoying one of its most significant seasons of economic growth in state history. More Arkansans are employed today than ever before. unemployment rate is 3.6 percent, which is lower than the national average. Since Wal-Mart made a commitment to purchase an additional $250 billion in American-made products by 2023 and has worked with suppliers to expand U.S. manufacturing and return production jobs to the states.
