IncSmart Pennsylvania (Small Business and Startups) - Philadelphia government is proposing legislation that would change the current permitted height of buildings along the Delaware River. This project will be part of a plan for a new group of residential towers and townhouses and a hotel on the South Philadelphia waterfront. The company initiating the legislation is K4 Associates LLC’s Liberty. The project on the River will includes 10 sky scrapers on a waterside parcel between Washington Avenue and Reed Street.
The Delaware River project will join the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, which has created pier parks opened along the Delaware River in the past six years. These parks include biking and walking trails in a new neighborhood development. The park area is attracting new residents to the waterfront by transforming this 18-acre blighted site into usable public space.
