The Detroit Region Aerotropolis Development Corporation comprises seven communities around Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports. There are 6,000 acres of land ready for development.
Penske Logistics will invest $98 million to develop a new warehouse. The new warehouse will be 606,000 square foot. The state of Michigan has awarded the company up to $2.5 million in a performance based grant. The grant is based on the company hiring potential. Penske Logistics will hire over 400 new employees by the fall 2021. Support business can search for locations along Wayne Road, just south of Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus. Unemployment is Romulus as of 6 / 2017 was 4.1% as compared to Michigan's 12.7% unemployment rate.
