Oregon Wooden Skyscrapers
IncSmart Oregon (Small Business and Startups) - Carbon12, a new building at NE Fremont and Williams will be eight stories high the nation's tallest wood building.  This building was created using a new process called cross-laminated timber.  This timber could replace steel and concrete and restore logging and manufacturing jobs in Oregon.   Especially the rural communities, where Oregon's natural resources have an advantage over foreign logging.

Oregon officials are excited.  This could renew demand for Oregon timber.  The logging industry has struggled under a slow economy, terrible trade deals, and environmental regulations under the Obama presidency.  Mills have been closing over the last three decades  With the he revolution of cross timber lamination and the Trump effect, the dormant sawmills are coming back to life.
