IncSmart Ohio (Small Business and Startups) - The Workhorse Group, locate in Loveland Ohio, announces it's first flight in it's hu man drone. SureFly, product of the Workhorse Group, has a created a two person drone taxi that will make it's maiden flight at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), January 8 2018. The flight in Las Vegas will show consumers how SureFly has reinvented the helicopter. Called the Octocopter it is the worlds first personal electronic hybrid octocopter.
SureFly can carry up to 400 pounds. It looks just like a drone, driven by eight propellers, and powered by a hybrid system of gas and a battery pack. Early versions of the drone will be piloted by a person, using a joystick, but an autonomous version is in the future. SureFly can cruise as fast as 70 miles an hour. Estimated retail cost is $200,000, when it goes on sale in 2019.
