IncSmart Arizona (Small Business and Startups) - Nikola Motors buys land in Coolidge Arizona for production of it's new hydrogen powered Class 8 trucks. Nikola is planning on investing over $1 billion dollars in Arizona over the next six year. The plant will bring 2000 jobs directly to Coolidge with 1000 more jobs for suppliers. Nikola is also building it's new headquarters in Phoenix. The home office will include research, design and development departments.
The Nikola plant is expected to produce 35,000 trucks per year, with the capacity for 50,000. Nikola currently has outstanding orders for 14,000 trucks. The cost of the Nikola trucks include the establishment of over 700 hydrogen fuel stations. The new trucks have been in development for three years and the models were just introduced a Phoenix convention center.
