IncSmart New Jersey (Small Business and Startups) - New Jersey to start sports betting. After Monday's Supreme Court opinion repealed the 25 year old Federal law that prohibits sports betting outside of Nevada, New Jersey is making plans. Watching sports in casinos and ball parks, have a new twist. Betting will also include sports fantasy internet sites.
Monmouth Park New Jersey will become the fist sporting venue to take advantage of the new law. Monmouth Park is located in Oceanport, about one hours south of Newark. The 147 year old track has been preparing for this day. They will transform the sports bar into a sports book and will add betting machines and betting windows. They will be able to cater to over 5000 gamblers at a time.
