IncSmart Nevada (Small Business and Startups) - When Las Vegas lost it's Amtrak service in 1997, The Desert West line from Arizona, left the city without rail service. XpressWest passenger service has been struggling to obtain enough capital to finance the 186 miles of rail from Victorville, California, to Las Vegas Nevada. XpressWest's building timeline was to start construction in the fall of 2016. The company delayed the start date to early 2017.
XpressWest is a Federally authorized high speed passenger train that will connect Las Vegas with Southern California. The Southern California station is in Victorville, California. These electric high speed trains would make the trip along the I-15 corridor to Las Vegas at speeds in excess of 150 MPH, and trains will be leaving every 20 minutes during peak travel times.
