The Boring Company will build this tunnel for high speed transportation. This will revolutionize public transportation in the city. Musk has also received permits to build tunnels in the District of Columbia and Los Angeles.
Called the Chicago Express Loop, the speed of the loop will be over 100 miles per hour and can shuttle people to and from the airport in 12 minutes. The fee will be under $30. These underground vehicles will carry 16 people at a time. The current rail link takes an hour for the 16 mile trip. The vehicles will run every 30 seconds for 20 hours a day. They will be battery powered and will have no driver.
