IncSmart Mississippi (Small Business and Startups) - Milwaukee Tool expands operations in Mississippi. Milwaukee currently employs over 1,600 people in Mississippi. By growing it's existing operations, they will provide Mississippians hundreds of new jobs. The expansion includes manufacturing the cordless power tool and additional distribution centers. The expansion will take place over the next four years.
Milwaukee Tools will invest over $30 million at it's existing manufacturing operations. The new expansion will create over 600 new jobs in Greenwood, Jackson, and Olive Branch. The Mississippi Development Authority will provide Milwaukee Tools assistance for its new renovations and improvements, as well as public infrastructure. The city of Greenwood will also finance the purchase of an existing building and fund parking lot improvements with a load from MDA. Current unemployment rates for Mississippi are 4.9%
