It's Southfield office is relocating to downtown Detroit in 2018. The city is evolving as the capital of the rustbelt to the capital of the Midwest. The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget released a report on Thursday stating that in December the unemployment rate for the Detroit-Warren-Livonia market stood at 10.2 percent, up from 9.7 percent in November.
With the addition of 165 jobs to the city center, local companies will benefit as suppliers. The Detroit Economic Growth Corp, giving a 10-year tax abatement is worth about $1.03 million, and was part of the deal for the move Microsoft. Support business are also booming. Shopping, dining, and entertainment top the list of Michigan opportunities in the Detroit area.
