IncSmart Arizona (Small Business and Startups) - Lucid Motors to build 700 million dollar plant in Casa Grande Arizona. Pinal County will lease the land to Lucid for four years. Lucid will receive over 1 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia in investments for it's new electric car plant. Lucid will launch it's first luxury car, Lucid Air in 2020. Lucid may also receive $5 million from the Arizona Competes Fund. This money the governor used to help bring companies to the state.
Lucid Motors plans to hire over 2000 employees. The new venture will also include plants in Sonora Mexico for parts to be used in the Casa Grande production. The plans for the factory will employ 750 people in phase one. Jobs could pay between $17 and $19 an hour. The Casa Grande mayor is expecting an influx of new residents and is expecting a surge in housing permits.
