Lordstown Ohio Sees New Light
IncSmart North Canton Ohio (Small Business and Startups) - Lordstown Ohio sees new light as GM negotiates sale of manufacturing plant to Workhorse Group.  Workhorse, a Cincinnati based company,  builds electric trucks and drones.  General Motors stopped building the Chevrolet Cruze in March.  Lordstown has been assembling vehicles for over 50 years.  This is good news for the community.  Some General Motors employees will still have the opportunity to transfer to other plants in order to save seniority and pensions.

The final deal has not been reached yet as negotiations continue with the United Auto Workers Union.  President Trump said the sale is subject to the UAW agreement.  Workhorse is scheduled to deliver electric vans by the end of 2019.  Lordstown Ohio is 60 miles east of Cleveland.  The number of employees at Workhorse could exceed 3000 jobs if they get the United States Postal Service contract.
