IncSmart Hawaii (Small Business and Startups) - A Aloha Stadium Redevelopment project shows that a smaller stadium at a cost of $324.5 million will save money instead of spending $423 million in repairs and renovations. Replacing the Aloha Stadium, and building a 2.6 million square feet of mixed-use development could create $1.5 billion in economic boon of the neighborhood on the 100-acre site of the Honolulu stadium’s surrounding property. The project also includes 22 private suites. The party suites could be leased annually, and two 16-seat suites reserved for the University of Hawaii.
The development of 2.6 million square feet design will include 350,000 square feet of retail, 150,000 square feet of office, a 200-room hotel and 500 family housing units. Estimates show a new Aloha Stadium could host about 321 events per year with attendance of 1.4 million customers.
