IncSmart Texas (Small Business and Startups) - General Motors will opens new supplier park in Arlington Texas. This industrial complex will be built at the old Six Flags Mall site. The new complex is owned International Automotive Components Group. They makes door panels, flooring, instrument panels. IAC will be among the largest tenants at the new logistics center. The center is also located near GM’s s Arlington assembly plant. GM currently employs about 4,225 people at its Arlington. This announcement comes as the Trump administration is preparing to renegotiate NAFTA, the North America Free Trade Agreement with Mexico and Canada.
This new supplier park will create a significant number of employee opportunities to Arlington. The center is expected create over 600 new jobs in America, from foreign countries, mostly from Mexico. GM’s Arlington assembly plant currently builds the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban SUVs, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and Cadillac Escalade. Suppliers at the complex will provide as many as 1,250 jobs.
