Foxconn Eyes Wisconsin Plant

IncSmart Wisconsin (Small Business and Startups) - Foxconn is Apple’s large IPhone supplier and assembler. Along with Apple, it manufactures and assembles smartphones for Blackberry and Sony.  Wisconsin is working on an economic development incentives necessary to help Foxconn set up a plant in the state.  Foxconn announced it was  investing $7 billion in a U.S. factory, and will hire 50,000 people.  Foxconn is a Taiwan based company. which was recently purchased by Japan's Sharp Corp. 

Foxconn operations will require skilled and trained labor. Wisconsin has 65 Four Year Colleges and Universities and 116 Colleges, Community Colleges, and Trade Schools.  Foxconn cost of producing devices is the most important issue.  Costs of producing devices in the U.S. requires an affordable price range.  The Foxconn decision would depend on factors including whether a state would be willing to provide low cost land and or power.
