How to Qualify to Do Business in Another StateQualification means to register your company in another state by filing Foreign Articles of Incorporation or Foreign Articles of Organization (LLC). This process is the same as filing your Domestic Articles in your home state. You will still require a Registered Agent to except legal documents on behalf of your company. The Foreign Articles are different in each state as they are when you file Domestic Articles. Find the fee by using the drop down menu below. This process will also include, proof to the foreign state that your company is in Good Standing in the domestic state. This will require a Certificate of Good Standing from the domestic state
Once you are registered in a state, you will be responsible for all local state fees such as taxes, employment and reports. The advantage of the Foreign filing is that on the Federal level, you will only need to use the current Domestic EIN or tax ID when it comes to filing with the IRS.
