IncSmart Florida (Small Business and Startups) - President Obama said the United States will reopen its embassy in Havana and end its current policy toward Cuba. Now, the countries are preparing to open embassies in each other's capitals and increase the flow of people and capital between them. Cuba is home to more than 11 million consumers and Havana is only 198 miles from Miami.
America and Cuba are separated by 90 miles of water. Cuba has an economy stuck in time and at risk of falling apart. Cuba’s business history peaked in 1984 and suffered a meltdown in the 1990s. There is no workforce in Cuba. It's shrinking and aging and there are only seven computers per 100 people. Business trade and investment with Cuba is still prohibited unless you get permission with the U.S. Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control.
