Facebook Builds Data Center in Ohio
IncSmart Ohio (Small Business and Startups) - Facebook will invest $750 million to build a new center in New Albany Ohio.  New Albany is a suburb of Columbus. The new facility will be powered renewable energy.  For building the center in New Albany, Facebook will avoid paying $37 million in taxes.  This includes $36.25 million in taxes on the computer equipment for the facility,  and a tax abatement from the state.

The new Facebook facility plans call for a 900,000 square foot building.  The building of the center is expected to create 50 jobs.  When opened, Facebook plans to employ 100 people when it's finished in 2019.  This is the largest project that central Ohio has seen in years.  New Albany already has Amazon as a local employer.  The unemployment rate in New Albany, Ohio, is 4.10%.
