Trump has released 11,000 Federal Employees in his first six months in office.  His goal is to slash the size of the federal government and reverse the trend of hiring.  Not since 2013 have federal agencies slashed jobs on such a large scale. The last time this many people were fired was when sequestration was triggered by the 2011 Budget Control Act.  This forced agencies to take drastic measures to cut costs.
