Bezos says he is helping President Trump reach the goal of putting people back on the moon by 2024. The Blue Moon Lander is a vehicle to move people and products. There are also plans to launch in 2023 without people. The lander is owned by Blue Origin and is a hydrogen fueled rocket.
Bezos is currently competing for NASA contracts along with Elon Musk and Richard Branson. NASA is due to ask for solicitations this month. Bezos also wants to start a lunar colony in conjunction with the Blue Moon Lander. Returning to the moon should also mean staying on the moon. Blue Origin also has a space ship named the New Shepard which is being built in Kent Washington and shipped to its new launch facility in West Texas.
