Daimler to Convert Oregon Factory
IncSmart Oregon (Small Business and Startups) -Daimler to convert Oregon factory in Portland to produce electric trucks.  The trucks are freightliner trucks.  Oregon was chosen for it's proximity to California.  Daimler has received a $15 million dollar grant from SCAQMD, which is South Coast Air Quality Management in California.

Local production schedule is set for 2021.  They will also have 50 battery test trucks on the road by year in 2019.  The trucks will have ranges of 250 miles and will take approximately 90 minutes to recharge.  Daimler has announced that it will hire 200 local truck drivers to develop it's self driving semi tractor trailers.
