Connecticut Development Authority
IncSmart Connecticut (Small Business and Startups) - Redevelopment of two vacant office buildings in downtown Hartford is beginning.  The two buildings will be turned into apartments. The 258 apartments will be studios, one bedroom and two bedroom units.  The estimated project is over $51 million.  The Capital Region Development Authority is the key source for public financing of nearly all real estate projects downtown.  These two buildings are the last vacant buildings in the central business district.  The renovation will grow the residents downtown.

This redevelopment is a four year project to create apartments around downtown Hartford.  This will boost the livability downtown and will create street level shops in both buildings.   Hartford has an unadjusted unemployment rate of 9.7% for May, which is 1.1% lower than its 10.8% rate one month prior.  Hartford is 2.5 hours north of New York City.
