In December, construction began on a four-acre park. Camden is transforming an additional nine acres into housing, retail, and commercial development. Camden began seeking bids last fall, and is now extended the deadline for proposals. Other proposals include includes restaurants and a hotel.
Spurring additional development, several companies, including Holtec, Subaru of America, and Lockheed Martin have announced plans to relocate to Camden. The unemployment rate in Camden, New Jersey, is 12.30%, with job growth of -0.66%. Future job growth over the next ten years is predicted to be 26.40%. Camden, New Jersey Taxes. Camden has been trying to change things around. This will be a beautiful park overlooking downtown Philadelphia. Wonder how much the rents will be for retail.
