IncSmart California (Small Business and Startups) - California tunnel to open in December, which they have been boring for a year. Elon Musk will open a stretch of his rapid transit tunnel on December 10. This is the first time the public gets to view his underground tunnel. The event will include free rides in the tunnel. Musk's company, the Boring Company, has received the green light from the Los Angeles city officials in 2017.
The stretch to be open to the public will run from Hawthorn to downtown Los Angeles. The tunnel will reach speed of 150 miles per hour. The Hawthorn tunnel will run from the SpaceX property in Hawthorn for two miles under the city to a point just east of LAX. The Federal Railroad Authority in Washington DC have been providing technical assistance for the project. Musk has posted map showing the tunnel routes. The plans include Getty Center, Dodger Stadium, Union Station and Los Angeles International Airport.
