Arizona to Open New Copper Mine
IncSmart Arizona (Small Business and Startups) - Arizona to open new copper mine south of Tucson.  The new mine will join ASARCO mine south of Tucson, making this city a copper capital.  The new mine owned by Hudbay of Canada, will be the third largest copper in America. Hudbay has been accommodated rules and regulations for 12 years.  They have the environment concerns covered.  Hudbay will invest just under $2 billion dollars in the project.

Hudbay says new technology will reduce the use of water in the area.  The new technology is called dry stack tailings.  In addition to environmental quality, the new mine will hire over 500 new employees and will generate $16 billion dollars for the county and city.   Copper has always been a staple for Arizona incomes.  Arizona currently produces over 2/3 of America's wiring and electronics.  The copper industry goes back generations.  Work on the mine is expected to begin in two months.
