Amazon in Washington to Increase Hourly Wages
IncSmart Washington (Small Business and Startups) - Amazon to increase minimum wage to $15 an hour for all employees.  This will effect 250,000 employees nationwide (570,000 worldwide).  Amazon announcement will apply to Whole Foods employees as well.  This is also going to be seen as a boost to the local economies.  Many of Amazons workers are still part time.  None of Amazon's American employees belong to a union.  Regular orientation movies for employees show anti union films.

Amazon had come under fire for its working conditions and low wages.  The median household income in 2017 was $61,000 a year.  This is two full time wage earners, earning $15 an hour in the same household.  Bernie Sanders sponsored a bill named "STOP BEZOS" after it was learned that Amazon employees were being subsidized by American taxpayers through Food Stamps.
