IncSmart Alabama (Small Business and Startups) - Continental Motors begins construction of it's new $75 million dollar factory in Mobile Alabama. The new project is 275,000 square feet. Most of this space is dedicated to advance engine and parts manufacturing for it's product line. The new Mobile facility is expect to take about 10 months and will be operational by 2020. Continental Motors is owned by a Chinese company named AVIC International Holding Corp.
The company has already started hiring workers to meet it's expected need. The new factory is incorporating new equipment for automation. The aircraft engine manufacturing plant has been in Mobile for over 50 years and is dedicated to the people in the Mobile Bay area. Continental has labeled this new expansion the "Blue Marlin Project when it first announced it's decision in March of 2017.
