The Law Office of Julia Colton-Bell, is a general practice law firm with an innovative
approach to client services. Most of our attorneys have over ten years experience or a
background in other professions such as real estate, business and finance. Our goal it
to provide quality representation and/or assistance to our clients. We provide
representation in the areas of:
Contracts: Reviewing of, drafting, advising on various types of contracts.
Small Business: Typically our small business clients need assistance in incorporation,
drafting of contracts and other documents for employees, vendors, and partners.
Additionally, we provide assistance with collection issues and/or suit against the
company.
Real Estate: Any issue pertaining to a home purchase or sale, foreclosure,
investment or disputes as to real property.
Debtor/Creditor Issues: We can help a client clear inaccurate entries on their credit
report stop harassing or illegal contact by a creditor and assist in negotiating settlement
of disputes or debts owed. For creditors we offer assistance in collecting debts from
debtors and advising on the allowable practices under the law.
Bankruptcy: We provide assistance for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings.
Personal Injury: If you are injured as a result of someone else’s negligence we can
assist you in resolving the matter or if necessary litigating the matter in court.
Criminal: We handle traffic, alcohol related offenses and minor criminal
matters such as assault, drug possession, and theft.
Family Law: Assistance can be obtained for divorce, child support, custody
and prenuptial agreements.
We have attorneys that can assist in Virginia, Maryland and DC.
To give clients options and flexibility we offer varying levels of representation and
payment options:
For small businesses:
Option 1: Assistance in filing incorporation papers and acting as a registered
agent. $300 for a year.
Option 2: For those companies that just need assistance in setting up we offer
advice on their business plan, incorporation (including the filing of the necessary
paperwork, employee handbook and/or policies, tax issues to plan for, and various
contracts that may be necessary for the specific type of business. $1,000.
Option 3: Includes the items listed in Option 1 and 2 but also allows regular review
and assistance with contracts, collections, questions or issues that may arise
throughout the year that do not involve litigation. Yearly fee of $6000.
Option 4: Provide assistance for collection of money owed to your company. If no
litigation involved $500 for up to ten accounts. If litigation is involved litigation $1,500 to
$3,000 depending on the amount of delinquent accounts. For additional accounts
above ten there are additional fees.
Option 5: Hourly $225 on any issue our firm handles.
For Personal Injury matters:
Most cases are handled on a contingency basis. You do not pay if we do not collect by
way of settlement or judgment. Cost of litigation, experts, and other expenses are
covered by the client.
Occasionally, when warranted, a part contingency-party hourly rate may apply.
For all other matters:
Option 1: Review of Complaint, questions via email answered. $300 per month.
Option 2: Review of additional documents and advice and questions answered
through course of litigation $500 per month.
Option 3: Drafting of initial documents for you and emails answered regarding
matter $600 per month.
Option 4: Entering appearance and representation for uncontested divorce, minor
traffic and minor criminal matters, $1,750. More serious criminal matters and DWI and
Bankruptcy, prices vary depending on the issues in the case.
Option 5: Full representation $225 an hour.
All prices are subject to change without notice. As some situations may be unique
prices may not reflect the actual charges in your particular matter. The above is used
to guide individuals in making a decision about who to hire and what the cost of doing
so will be. The above does not include expenses such as filing fees which are set and
paid to the court, filing fees set by the state for incorporation and other items specified
in the Client Retainer Agreement.
