  1. Select your STATE for creating your Corporation.
  2. Choose a name for your company.  Check names on Incsmart.biz Secretary of State FAQs. Watch for Trademarks, Copyrights and domain name availability.
  3. Complete the PAYPAL PAYMENT FORM, or use your credit card.  If sending by Western Union, submit this Information Form.  If making a wire transfer, add the $15 Wire Transfer Fee to your shopping cart
  4. Choose your Registered Agent.  IncSmart has Agents in all states.
  5. Complete our ONLINE APPLICATION.  Make sure you write down your PayPal Receipt for your application.
  6. We will prepare your ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, review it for completeness and file it with the Secretary of State. In some states, we may not be able to sign the Articles of Incorporation on your behalf and will need to deliver it to you for signature. Once your materials are submitted, the processing time required will vary depending on the state in which you file.  Asset Protection Plans
  7. Keep checking the Secretary of State Corporation Department web page for your listing.  As soon as you see your name online, it's official.  You have your name.  
  8. Now you can order your business cards, stationary, logos, mailing address and register your domain name.  See our BUSINESS RESOURCES page.  
  9. Once we receive the filed ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, we will deliver it to you. Do you need Overnight Delivery?

  1. Buy a THREE RING BINDER or order a RECORDS KIT for your documents
  2. Create the BYLAWS and print STOCKS.  After articles have been formed, IncSmart.biz will email you a name and password for our library of templates and forms.  Elect your directors and officers.  Then issue your shares of stock.  These shares of stock show
    ownership of the company.  
  3. In some states, an INITIAL LIST OF OFFICERS, or INITIAL REPORT will be do within a few weeks to the Secretary of State.  This fee is not included in the IncSmart.biz pricing.  Find prices on the FAQ page for your state.
  4. Have your INITIAL MEETING of Directors and Shareholders
  5. Apply for your TAX ID NUMBER (EIN).
  6. Open a CHECKING ACCOUNT for your new company.
  7. Open a MERCHANT ACCOUNT for your new company.  See our BUSINESS RESOURCES page.
  8. Fund your new company.  There are three ways to finance start-up costs: use your own money, obtain a loan, or find investors.
  9. Write your BUSINESS PLAN.  A good business plan should include a description of what you are selling,  who the prospective customers are, how you plan to promote, and how much money is need for start-up costs.  SOFTWARE and BOOKS

  11. OBTAIN LICENSES & PERMITS.  It's very important not to overlook any necessary license or permit. Some cities and counties require a general business license. If the product or service you sell is taxable, you need a state sales tax permit. 
  12. SET UP RECORD KEEPING.  Hire your accountant, bookkeeper, and tax consultant. See our BUSINESS RESOURCES page.  
  13. QUALIFYING to CONDUCT BUSINESS IN OTHER STATES.   If your company expects to transact business outside your state of formation, your company may be required to qualify. IncSmart.biz can file the necessary paperwork to qualify your business as a foreign corporation or LLC in any of the 51 jurisdictions.
